Series Overview
The New Life series highlights the profound connection between the Genesis creation narrative and the Gospel of John’s redemption story, revealing how Jesus brings about a new creation through His life, work, and resurrection. Just as God spoke light and life into the world in the beginning, John presents Jesus as the eternal Word who enters the world to restore what was lost. Each message draws out this parallel: The Beginning introduces Jesus as the agent of creation; The Life reveals Him as the source of spiritual rebirth; The Work shows how His finished work on the cross completes the Father's redemptive plan; and The Resurrection unveils the first act of new creation, offering eternal life to all who believe.
Series Devotionals
-
In this first part, we focus on The Light—the divine illumination that awakens our hearts to the reality of who God is. From creation to Christ, God has always begun His work with light. Jesus is not only the source of forgiveness, but the light that dispels darkness, reveals truth, and births new life in us. Before we can experience transformation, we must receive the light that opens our eyes and leads us into life.
-
In this second part, we focus on The Life—the breath of God that animates more than our lungs. From the moment God formed humanity from the dust and breathed life into us, we were made for more than existence. Jesus came not just to forgive sin, but to restore order to our being—spirit, mind, and body—so that we could live abundantly in the fullness of divine life.
-
In this third part, we focus on The Work—the divine mission Jesus came to fulfill. Just as God completed creation and rested, Jesus completed redemption and invited us into His rest. His declaration, “It is finished,” wasn’t one of defeat but fulfillment. The work is done. Now, we don’t work to earn rest—we rest in His finished work, and from that place, we live, serve, and walk in our God-given purpose.
-
This final part, The Resurrection, focuses on the power of Easter not as a one-time miracle but as a daily reality. The resurrection is not only about Jesus coming out of the grave—it’s about death working backward in our lives, and everything broken, bitter, or buried being made new. Through Jesus, we trade spaces—from despair to hope, from pain to healing, from endings to new beginnings.
