Series Overview

This is a call to the Church to remember who we are and how we are meant to live in the world. In 1 Peter, believers are described as living stones; set apart, built together, and anchored on Christ the Cornerstone. This series will challenge and encourage us to stand firm in suffering, walk in holiness, and shine as a witness to God’s grace. In a season where culture pulls hard, we need the steady voice of Scripture to ground us. We have to remember: we have been set apart to be Holy.

Series Devotionals

  • Holiness, in essence, is who God is. Since that same God lives in us, we too are holy and made to operate with holy conduct and purpose. Our very calling originates from God’s identity himself. To understand what we were made to do, we must first understand who God is. As we deepen our relationship with the Lord this week, may the inward transformation expunge sin from our lives, so we can gain vision and become like the One who made us, holy.

  • Holiness confronts parts of us that still resemble this world through a process of sanctification. There’s a tension between conformity to this world and living by Christ’s example. We’re called to be different. As Christians, we do not belong to the world’s systems. Our home, values, purpose, and identity are anchored in Christ. How we live, how we speak, and how we treat people matter. We are not simply individuals attending church. We are living stones being built into a spiritual house, a royal priesthood, chosen and holy.

  • Peter urges his audience to live in a way that reflects a life saved by a creator, one that is wholly other. His letter serves as a handbook on how to live in sacredness in a world that opposes everything our risen savior stands for. As Christians, we should not fit into societal categories. A holy life is another type of life that personifies the sacred kingdom, and the world will take notice of this. Our greatest witness to the world is hearts that honor the holiness of God, hope that is secure, and lives that are transformed.

  • Suffering refines us and reveals the glory of Christ. Suffering is not a detour. It’s a road God often uses to sanctify His people. Though no one chooses to suffer, everyone does at some point. So, the question is not “am I going to suffer? but rather, “how will I be formed through suffering?” We are made holy not by enduring pain, but by encountering Christ in it. We are made holy not by escaping pain, erasing or pushing through pain, but by enduring with Christ.
